Media Architecture Biennale 2014: World Cities
This autumn will see the spring of cutting edge congresses in Europe, dedicated to emerging fields in Urban Studies.
After the Venice Interactive Urban Design Symposium, the first world Media Architecture Biennale will be held in Aarhus, Denmark, from 19th to 22nd November this year.
Media architecture is an increasingly important digital layer in cities all over the world. It is a part of shopping malls, casinos, digital signs and commercials. The biennale brings together people and organisations that work with media and the built environment: With media facades, with urban screens and with buildings that communicate – be it with colourful LEDs, flashing light bulbs, or with heat-sensitive concrete that ’freezes’ the shadows of passers-by.
There is still a short time to submit a project for the Media Biennale Award: the deadline is 7th of September.
